U2

I just watched my latest purchase - U2 live in Chicago. This is the first tour I have missed since the Joshua Tree tour in 1987, when the BoDeans opened for them at the St. Paul Civic Center. I'm dating myself now...

Anyway, It opened with City of Blinding Lights. The best u2 song in years. They played a couple of way oldies. Electric Co., An Cat Dubh, and Running to Stand Still. Wow. Great.

Bono preached like usual. Tamed down a bit, but still did it. As I have become more conservative over the years, I like his banter less and less, but for the most part, he means well.

The show ended with 40. Something only true u2 fans know. "How long, How long can I sing this song" Straight out of the Bible. They ended it just like they did at the Red Rocks show years ago. First Bono leaves the stage, then Adam, the Edge, the Larry. Full Circle.
