Stewart Kisses the Bricks at Indy

Tony Stewart took his second victory at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday. This was also his second victory in as many races. A win at Indy is extra special for Smoke, growing up 30 miles from the speedway.
The race had many multi car wrecks on Sunday, which is uncommon for this track. Tony dominated most of the day. For a while it looked Like Dale Earnhardt Jr. had a car to beat, but Tony didn't let that happen. Later in the race Jr. blew an engine and was a non-factor.
Late in the race, good friend, Kevin Harvick took the lead from Stewart. Stewart still had a better car and after being blocked by Harvick several times, Tony traded a little paint with him and took the lead back. Harvick was none to please and got into him one more time before Smoke pulled away to take the win. On the cool down lap, Happy Harvick hit Stewart, almost pushing him into Redd Sorenson. Harvick was immediately called the the NASCAR hauler for a post race discussion. All in all, it was another great race at Indy.

Sammy is Open

I downloaded the new Sammy Hagar tune "Open" today from iTunes. Thanks to J-dogg for reminding me that it was out. What a great freakin tune. The best song Sam has realeased since Ten 13 came out.

The Redrocker has done it again. I have been disappointed with the music from the last couple or records, but this one ROCKS. I am excited about the new studio record when it comes out. Also excited about the fall tour, even thought he dissed Minneapolis again. I might just have to drive over to Green Bay and see him with my boy Justin. It seems that is the only place I can see a Cabo live show anymore.

Give this song a listen, it's only 99 cents on iTunes.

Peace out and rock on to all the Redheads....

Smoke climbs the fence in Chi Town

Tony Stewart got his first win of the season on Sunday at Chicagoland Speedway. He topped it off with is signature climbing of the fence and hopping into the flag stand. Smoke dominated a bunch of the race. Matt Kenseth gave him a run for his money in the closing laps, but Smoke pulled away and took the checkers first.

A few blown tires today made an interesting twist. Jamie McMurray, Robbie Gordan, and Golden Boy Jimmie Johnson all blew tires and backed thier cars into the wall.

Stewart moved up one spot in the points, and Johnson continues to fall.

Harvick gets Windy City Busch win

Kevin Harvick took the checkered flag again on Saturday in the Busch Series. I actually only saw the last few laps, so don't have much to say about this race. Congrats Happy Harvick...

BoDeans at the Aquatenial Block Party

I got to see one of my favorite bands for the second time this year last night at the Minneapolis Aquatenial Block Party. I hope to post some video later. Maybe on YouTube, maybe on here (if I can figure it out). They played all the fan favorites, plus a couple rare tunes. I have seen these guys countless times and last night was only the second time I have heard them play my favorite song "Dreams" live. Great night. They also played a song from the new album they are working on. I havn't heard much about it, but I hope it comes out soon. The song was pretty solid.

Denny Hamlin gets first Cup win of the year

Denny Hamlin finally got the monkey off his back on Sunday at Louden, NH. He held off the late charge of Jeff Gordon to take the checkers.

After his pit crew has lost him a handfull of races this year, they finally got him a win. He was not the best car, but they took two tires on the last pit stop, getting him out first and giving him the much needed clean air.

It was also a relief for the entire Joe Gibbs racing team, who has led the most laps this year in the Car of Tommorrow, but hasn't yet made it to victory lane. Next week is the Daytona night race, so hopefully Tony Stewart can make it two in a row for Gibbs.

Martin Truex Jr. also scored another top 5. What a turn around for this team.

Happy Harvick scores win at Louden, NH Busch Race

Kevin Harvick held off points leader Carl Edwards to win the Busch Series race on Saturday at New Hampshire Speedway.

I wasn't able to see the race, so can't give many details other than someone finally put Juan Pablo Montoya into the wall. He sure had that coming after hitting about everything except the pace car this season.
